Fairies
For months, photographer Kathrin Linkersdorff dries, turns and processes flowers, then photographs them using a special technique. Her works are inspired by the Japanese wabi-sabi philosophy: beauty as acceptance of transience, imperfection and vulnerability. The book does justice to the elaborate working process involved in creating the images: many details in the design, a very elaborate production and an extraordinary book layout cite Japanese cultural techniques with a high degree of sensitivity. “Fairies” won an award at ADC Germany and Bronze at Deutscher Fotobuchpreis.
